The Marble Comics

Below find embedded versions of all the original Marble Comics. These comic books were the very start of The Une Papers, completed mostly between 1999-2003, while I was in middle school. I made vague attempts to complete the comic books during high school (and in some cases, to “remake” the first few books so that they would better fit within the greater story of The Une Papers), but I never made any real progress.

Though these comics were originally a group project (two or three friends and I kept individual copybooks with our own versions of more or less the same story that we “developed” together), over time I came to take the project more seriously, and I delved more deeply into creating my own characters and mythologies separate from the original stories made by my friends. (For instance, my classmates came up with the Invisible Friends, while I developed the Smile Family and the Elder Gods entirely on my own.)

Therefore, after Volume 3 of the Marble Comics, my friends stopped drawing their own stories, and my path took on a full life of its own. Eventually, this project became The Une Papers.
